چکیده
Abstract We consider an optimal control problem for a single-spot pulsed laser welding problem. The distribution of thermal energy is described by quasilinear heat equation. Our emphasis on materials which tend to suffer from hot cracking when welded, such as aluminum alloys. A simple precursor the occurrence cracks velocity solidification front. therefore formulate whose objective contains term penalizes excessive velocities. function be optimized power over time, subject pointwise lower and upper bounds. describe finite element discretization projected gradient scheme its solution. Numerical experiments material data representing EN AW 6082-T6 alloy exhibit interesting pulse patterns perform significantly better than standard ramp-down patterns.

متن کاملFinite element simulation of laser spot welding
The present work reports on a two-dimensional axisymmetric nite element analysis of heat ow during laser spot welding, taking into account the temperature dependence of the physical properties and latent heat of transformations. An analysis based on conduction heat transfer alone, but using the ‘double ellipsoidal’ representation of the laser beam, seems to be suf cient to estimate the tra...
متن کاملControl of pulsed gas metal arc welding
This paper presents a control system for manual pulsed Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW). This system consists of a current controller, which makes it possible to shape the current during welding, and two important components, which are the key issues discussed in this paper. These components include an arc length controller and a metal transfer controller. The arc length controller is based on a no...
متن کاملAn Explicit Single-step Method for Numerical Solution of Optimal Control Problems
In this research we used forward-backward sweep method(FBSM) in order to solve optimal control problems. In this paper, one hybrid method based on ERK method of order 4 and 5 are proposed for the numerical approximation of the OCP. The convergence of the new method has been proved .This method indicate more accurate numerical results compared with those of ERK method of order 4 and 5 for solvin...
متن کاملdevelopment and implementation of an optimized control strategy for induction machine in an electric vehicle
in the area of automotive engineering there is a tendency to more electrification of power train. in this work control of an induction machine for the application of electric vehicle is investigated. through the changing operating point of the machine, adapting the rotor magnetization current seems to be useful to increase the machines efficiency. in the literature there are many approaches wh...
